Fishing Club Members are invited to submit suggestions to the Committee for consideration.

            2. Membership in the Fishing Club shall consist ONLY of property owners in Dory Lakes Subdivision who are current members of DLPOA, and have paid the current Fishing Club dues.

Membership dues are Fifty dollars ($50.00) per year. Each member will be issued four (4) badges and each set will be numbered and registered. Only one set of badges per ownership will be issued, regardless of the number of owners or the number of lots owned.

3. DORY LAKE: Fishing is restricted to artificial flies and hardware only.

Use of any other means including but not limited to artificial worms or salmon eggs or bait of any kind is strictly prohibited. Still fishing is also prohibited.

            4. The limit on fish is three (3) per day or three (3) pounds. [i.e. one fish weighing 3 pounds or more or 2 fish totaling 3 pounds or more.] It is suggested that we catch and release as often as possible.

Registration consists of providing boat ownership information to the Fishing Club on a form approved by the Fishing Club and payment of a registration fee of $20.00 after which a sticker will be issued for placement on the boat. Both the form and sticker are provided by the Fishing Club. Only one boat per Fishing Club member is allowed at the lake and must be stored in the designated area and locked. The registration fee will be used solely for boat related expenses.

An existing auto access road off of West Dory Way and a small parking area for use of transporting a boat and equipment is available. Please do not park in the turn-around area on the right nor block the drive to private property on the left. This area is also where you will find the Porto-potty. A parking area is also located next to the green belt, on the south side of North Dory Lake Drive, across from the south access trail.

                        E. Please, do not litter, take your trash with you when you leave.

                        F. All badges are numbered and assigned to each DLPOA Fishing Club Member and are registered with the Fishing Club. A roster of members, their badge numbers and other pertinent information shall be maintained by the Fishing Club and its patrols. Any member desiring to receive a copy for their use in identifying fishing buddies and neighbors should contact a committee member. This will also provide a good way of helping to patrol and identify unauthorized persons.

Should a badge be lost, notify one of the Committee members. He will instruct you to return the remaining badges and new ones shall be issued with a new number for a fee of $10.00. The badges that are returned shall be destroyed.

Remember this is your CLUB and your money and in order to keep the fishing at its best we all must comply with the rules. We ask your cooperation, get acquainted with your neighbors and other members. Help preserve good fishing and protect your investment by patrolling the lakes and ponds; whether proper fishing methods are being used, check badges, keep non-members and trespassers out. Any infractions witnessed, get the name including particulars and report it to a Committee or Board Member. If the incident involves trespassers or non-members notify the Gilpin Sheriff’s Office (Phone: 582-5511) of the trespasser.

The lake and ponds will be patrolled and unauthorized persons, i.e. any person without a fishing badge fishing, will be reported to the Gilpin County Sheriff and charged as trespassers.

Other violations shall be reported to the Fishing Committee for review. The Fishing Committee shall determine whether the matter should be referred to DLPOA’s Board. The Fishing Committee will make recommendations to the DLPOA’s Board of Directors. If it is of the opinion, the incident is not in keeping with the spirit of these rules and regulations and the DLPOA’s Board shall have the power to suspend or expel any member for any conduct which is in violation of the rules and regulations or is likely to endanger the welfare of the Club and community. To do this, a written notice setting forth the alleged charges shall be given to the accused member. The notice shall further advise the member of a meeting set no sooner than seven (7) days from the date of the notice, of the Fishing Committee and the Board of Directors.
